Bars

Buddha bar

8, Rue Boissy d'Anglas, 75008 Paris

tous les jours de midi à 2h

One notices first and foremost the decoration and ambiance of this restaurant, situated near the Place de la Concorde. It is among the most unique restaurants in Paris, much less within its genre, with a striking centerpiece: a giant Buddha, over 8 meters high, seated in the center of the main room. The decoration follows this Asian theme, and the ambiance is supplemented by a unique music selection, making the Buddha Bar an establishment which is at once festive and intimate. The cuisine is also Asian-influenced.

Favela Chic

18, Rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75011 Paris

08.26.10.07.90

www.favelachic.com

A bar-restaurant with exotic allure. While Portuguese-speakers may be a little puzzled by the name, Favela Chic incorporates a heady atmosphere with luscious electronic sambas and bossa novas that resembles at least the more romantic visions of Rio de Janiero’s underclass party culture. It is not rare to find clients dancing on the tables as the night goes on.

Zéro de conduite

14, Rue Jacob, 75006 Paris

Mardi, mercredi et jeudi de 20h30 à 2h. Le week-end de 18h à 2h, dimanche 21h à 1h

01.46.34.26.35

If there is one thing you could say about this bar, it is that it certainly qualifies as original! It is in some way the children’s playground of Paris. One drinks out of baby’s bottles, and cartoon books are at patrons’ disposals. Ideal for students suffering from Peter Pan syndrome. One comes here to return to one’s childhood for a pleasurable evening.

Apparemment café

18, rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais, 75003 Paris

de 12h à 2h fermé le dimanche

01.48.87.12.22

A restaurant bar that has adopted a new concept: amid its library-themed interior, you can find yourself a quiet place to enjoy a drink and a good book, or alternatively take advantage of the many board games to amuse yourself with friends. The cocktail and dining menus offer a wide range of choices.

Footsie

10 rue Daunou, 75002 Paris

01.42.60.07.20

A pleasingly original concept—Footsie is named after the London Stock Exchange. In the bar, the prices of drinks vary in function of demand. On 4 large screens, you can survey the eventual “price crashes” that will allow you to buy drinks for much less. Just steps from the Opéra.

Café Beaubourg

43 rue Merri, 75004 Paris

Ouvert tous les jours de 8h à 1h et jusqu’à 2h le reste de la semaine

33 (0)1 48 87 63 96

Just a few steps from the Marais, this is people-watching headquarters. Located at the pedestrian crossroads in front of Pompidou Center. Chic and international. Excellent Sunday brunch.
